About Us
True Blue Associates is where sharp strategy, thoughtful messaging, and Alaska-rooted experience come together to win campaigns that matter. We help candidates find their voice, cut through the noise, define the race, and deliver decisive victories. Our focus is on elections that shape everyday life; municipal and legislative races where the outcome often determines whether educators are valued, public employees are supported, and the people have a government that serves their interests.
Our secondary focus is where planning, policy, and public process come together to move community priorities forward. We have worked with nonprofits, labor organizations, and coalitions to realize their goals through strategic guidance, digital tools, and inclusive results-oriented engagement. Grounded in deep research and data-informed strategy, our work is driven by our team’s expertise in turning complex processes into meaningful, measurable outcomes.
At True Blue Associates, we know every dollar counts, especially in local campaigns. By keeping our team lean, we’re able to charge less than traditional agencies, allowing campaigns to reinvest thousands of dollars into direct voter contact where it matters most. Our lower rates don’t mean lower standards—in fact, our results match or outperform higher-priced agencies because we know what it takes to win at the local level. By keeping costs low and impact high, we help campaigns stay competitive without breaking the bank.
We operate on the belief that inclusive leadership leads to better outcomes. Our team brings a balance of perspectives—professional, lived, and gendered that sharpens our work and strengthens our partnerships.
Matthew Beck is a self-made communications strategist known for flipping narratives, keeping bad actors out of local government, and shaping races others wrote off. A former Communications Director for the Alaska Democratic Party and the author behind the hard-hitting Blue Alaskan political blog, Beck’s work pulled off a state senate primary upset in a longtime conservative stronghold, proving that a seat long abandoned by political operatives was winnable. He has built numerous successful school board campaigns that punched well above their weight, yielding some of the widest margins in one-on-one matchups in over a decade. Most recently, he elected progressive candidate Yarrow Silvers to the Anchorage Assembly, securing a win in a three-way race for East Anchorage’s open seat.
Jeanne Devon brings national reach, razor-sharp instincts, and a political sixth sense that’s hard to teach. A New York Times bestselling political author and founder of the iconic Mudflats blog, Jeanne has helped define progressive political commentary in Alaska since the Palin era. Her voice has been a constant presence in Alaska’s political discourse, cutting through chaos and championing accountability.
She served as Press Secretary for the Alaska Senate Democrats in Juneau, and like Beck, Devon also served as Communications Director for the Alaska Democratic Party. There, she brought message discipline to a statewide operation and helped sharpen the contrast between candidates and the far-right forces trying to hijack the narrative. Whether crafting rapid response, building a campaign brand, or shaping a long game for movement-building, Jeanne brings unmatched clarity and proven political acumen to the table.

I’m deeply grateful for the clarity and dedication he brought to my re-election campaign.”
